अरवल ज़िला मगध डिवीज़न का हिस्सा है। यह अगस्त 2001 में बना था और पहले जहानाबाद ज़िले का हिस्सा था।
इस ज़िले में एक सब-डिवीज़न और पाँच ब्लॉक हैं, यानी अरवल, कलेर, करपी, कुर्था और सूर्यपुर वंशी।
इस ज़िले में दो विधानसभा क्षेत्र हैं: 214-अरवल और 215-कुर्था। यह जहानाबाद संसदीय क्षेत्र के अंतर्गत आता है।
अरवल शहर भारत के बिहार राज्य में अरवल ज़िले का प्रशासनिक मुख्यालय है। यह पहले जहानाबाद ज़िले का हिस्सा था। इस ज़िले का गठन इलाके में नक्सलवाद को नियंत्रित करने के लिए किया गया था। यह ज़िला दो पड़ोसी ज़िलों, यानी जहानाबाद और औरंगाबाद के इलाकों को मिलाकर बनाया गया था। अरवल की आबादी 5,88,000 है। ज़िला मुख्यालय अरवल, राज्य की राजधानी पटना से लगभग 80 किलोमीटर दक्षिण में स्थित है। अरवल शहर सोन नदी के दाहिने किनारे पर बसा है, जो गंगा की एक सहायक नदी है।

अरवल ज़िला भारत के बिहार राज्य के 38 ज़िलों में से एक है और अरवल शहर इस ज़िले का प्रशासनिक मुख्यालय है। यह अगस्त 2001 में बना था और पहले जहानाबाद ज़िले का हिस्सा था। अरवल की आबादी 6,99,563 है। यहाँ पाँच ब्लॉक हैं: अरवल, कलेर, करपी, कुर्था और सूर्यपुर वंशी। धान, गेहूँ और मक्का यहाँ की मुख्य फ़सलें हैं। सबसे नज़दीकी हवाई अड्डा पटना में है और रेलवे स्टेशन जहानाबाद में है। सड़क मार्ग से अरवल, जहानाबाद, पटना, औरंगाबाद और भोजपुर से जुड़ा हुआ है। इसका मुख्यालय अरवल में है, जो राज्य की राजधानी पटना से लगभग 65 किलोमीटर दक्षिण में है। अरवल शहर सोन नदी के दाहिने किनारे पर बसा है, जो गंगा नदी की एक सहायक नदी है।

The district comprises one subdivision and five blocks: Arwal, Kaler, Karpi, Kurtha, and Suryapur Vanshi.
There are two Legislative Assembly constituencies in the district: 214-Arwal and 215-Kurtha. It falls under the Jehanabad parliamentary constituency.
Arwal town serves as the administrative headquarters of Arwal district in the Indian state of Bihar. It was formerly part of the Jehanabad district.
